Job Description:
EdgeTech Consulting a prime vendor to the US Navy, is seeking a Database Developer for the following multi-year project in Indian Head, MD.
Only US Citizens are eligible. A DoD Secret Clearance will be required for most team members.
We are seeking the following personnel for a multi-year project in Indian Head, MD. This team will provide technical support services in the areas of information assurance, continuous improvement, strategic planning process development, direct customer service, and employing new technologies in systems and services. This team will assist in assessing, developing and implementing enhanced operating systems, supporting pilot initiatives, and evaluating new technology applications for the Navy’s Contracts Management and Standard Procurement Systems.

System Description:
Contracts Management System (CMS) application is a Client/Server Application using the Microsoft’s SQL Server 2000 database and a front end application developed using Microsoft Access 2000.
The CMS Systems includes the Standard Procurement System (SPS) and Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) applications. The predominant software and O/S technologies used to operate/support SPS include Web Methods 6.5, Adapter 2.2, Sybase 12.5, and Solaris.
The system environment is primarily Silicon Graphics Unix-based mainframe and workstation computers.
The database developer’s responsibilities will include:
• assist with developing and maintaining databases in the required computer applications environment.
• assist in performing database administration services for various digital libraries and office applications.
• maintain and keep current all digital and non-digital data holdings
• prepare and maintain metadata for digital library catalogs.
Technical requirements: MS Access, SQL Server, Sybase
The types of data requiring management include:
• Technical reports, instructional/training documentation, courseware, data compilations, and data surveys, evaluations, and analysis
• Specifications, tabulations, designs, concepts, diagrams, and flowcharts
• Maintenance requirements, guidelines, schedules, procedures, instructions, corrective actions, etc.
• Conference agenda, conference minutes, and presentation materials
• Purchase descriptions, proposals, equipment illustrations, program planning, support, and budget documentation and funding plans
Other required skills include:
- Excellent verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently when needed
- Team player attitude
- Self-motivated.
