Job Description:
Dendreon is seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller who will manage the overall oversight of the monthly financial closing process related to the general ledger and accounts payable functions. This includes coordinating with cost accounting and facility accounting groups to ensure accurate/timely reporting. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and technical skills and have extensive working knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and internal accounting control procedures.
General Summary:
Management responsibility over the general accounting and accounts payable functions, and supervision and development of staff.
Performs a wide variety of activities involving SEC Reporting:
Leads, coordinates and assists in the preparation of SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K reports.
Maintains version control until documents are filed with the SEC.
Researches SEC rules and provides guidance on proper accounting, reporting and disclosure.
Year-end audited financial statements, footnote disclosure and MD&A support.
Manages project timelines to ensure milestones are met and filings are completed timely and accurately.
Provides GAAP research and prepare/review position papers.
Provides financial analysis and presentation support for earnings releases, board presentations, shareholder meetings and investor relations.
Reviews quarterly reporting and accounting for FAS123R Review and Oversight equity transactions.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA required.
Typically a minimum of 8 years related experience with increasing responsibility.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred.
FDA regulated industry experience preferred.
