Job Description:
Dendreon is seeking several highly motivated Apheresis Specialists to act as the primary contact for the apheresis collections sites in the following regional areas: Northeast, Southeast, Central, South-central, and West. The Apheresis Specialist in each area will support the operation for the apheresis clinical and commercial supply chains. They will also assist in the qualification of the apheresis suppliers and provide support as needed for new and existing commercial and clinical sites in their area(s). Dendreon is a fast-paced, high volume production environment. Team building and problem-solving are essential to success in this position.
General Summary:
Investigates and reports problems with incoming apheresis products; provides problem-solving support to collection centers.
Acts as primary contact for apheresis collection sites.
Provides routine site inspections and training to ensure consistency, quality and compliance of apheresis products.
Liaises with physicians to evaluate venous access and need for line placement.
Communicates changes affecting the apheresis cell products to collection centers via SOP revision and verbal communication to ensure compliance.
Maintains and ensures accuracy of documentation files and collection database for apheresis sites.
Assists with the development of qualification requirements and identification and selection of apheresis sites.
Represents department in cross-functional teams and GXP-related problem resolution.
Develops and implements key performance metrics and reports.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
Typically 5 years related experience in cGMP environment.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Some travel may be required.
Handling of biologic materials.
Some on-call hours may be required.
