Job Description:
Dendreon is seeking a highly motivated Director of Human Resources – Compensation and Benefits. The director will be an important member of the Human Resources department and will lead and develop corporate policies, identify and evaluate fundamental issues for functional areas and interact with internal and external executive level management. The ability to function in a fast-paced, highly technical environment, and communicate effectively is essential to success.
General Summary:
Performs a wide variety of activities which may include one or more of the following:
Oversees the design review, implementation and administration of the following nationwide plans/programs: base pay/salary including bonus, equity, 401(k), health, dental, life and disability insurance, wellness, and other compensation and benefit programs ensuring they support the company’s compensation philosophy and business objectives.
Facilitates and coordinates the annual and mid-year compensation review process including analysis of merit, bonus and stock.
Monitors benefits usage and trends and recommends plan changes as appropriate to ensure the benefits programs are scalable as we grow, competitive, cost effective and perceived as valuable to employees.
Works with IT resources to develop a companywide HR systems strategy to include maintaining, developing and implementing HR related computer systems.
Manages the day-to-day operations maintaining the accuracy and integrity of HR systems, creates and maintains reports.
Works on compensation and benefits disclosures as required for use in proxy materials and other SEC filings; works with the Finance and Legal teams as required with respect to regulatory, accounting and tax requirements.
Assists in preparing for Compensation Committee meeting and provide support for outside consultant(s) as needed regarding executive compensation projects.
Develops an effective communication approach to ensure compensation and benefits programs are fully understood by all.
Leads, motivates and develops team members that offer excellent customer service and business solutions.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Typically 10 years of related experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Typically 2 years experience leading supervisory personnel and contributing toward the development of department strategy.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Experience in developing and making formal presentations to senior management.
Experience with department budget planning, management and reconciliation.
Prefer biotech/pharma experience.
Prefer sales compensation experience.
