Job Description:
The Dendreon Product Development Team is seeking a motivated Senior Scientist to help lead the development of novel active immunotherapies (AITs) targeting cancer. The Senior Scientist will demonstrate technical expertise in the product development and process development of cell therapies and will produce tangible results as products move from scientific concept to commercial reality. The ideal candidate will have scientific understanding and experience in immunology cell biology and clinical product development, and will have excellent organizational and communication skills, a keen attention to detail and thrive in a team environment.
General Summary:
Performs a wide variety of activities which may include one or more of the following:
Designs and conducts process optimization studies for AIT cGMP manufacture.
Designs and conducts studies to qualify new components for use in AIT cGMP manufacture.
Designs and conducts studies to develop novel new immunotherapy products for clinical trial studies.
Performs functionally based bioassays and flow cytometry to characterize active cellular immunotherapies.
Performs, documents and analyzes experimental data that examines the characteristics of active cellular immunotherapies.
Writes, reviews and approves documents such as technical reports, SOPs, validation reports and scientific manuscripts.
Oversees technical personnel.
Transfers process technologies to manufacturing, and performs development qualification studies.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the Biotech industry, with particular expertise in immunoassays and cell-based techniques.
Knowledge of cGMP and FDA device/drug/biologics regulations.
Experience with process and equipment qualification and validation.
Familiarity with complex data analysis and statistical analysis tools highly desirable.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This job requires working with blood and cell lines of human and animal origin.
Will require work with hazardous materials.
Requires occasional evening and weekend work.
